Il Palazzo del Conservatorio

(The Palace of the Conservatory) Of Rome's seven hills, the Capitoline (Campidoglio) is the most sacred -- its origins stretch back into antiquity (an Etruscan temple to Jupiter once stood on this spot). These museums house some of the most notable pieces of classical sculpture in the world. You'll also find Lupa Capitolina, from the 5th century B.C. with Romulus and Remus, the legendary twins suckled by the wolf.
